Books That Have Been On My TBR The Longest

Hi Bookworms!

My TBR is absolutely huge. I own at least 200 books (very likely more) that I haven’t read yet.. But I still continue to buy more? It’s a strange habit and addiction to have. But I wouldn’t have my bookshelves any other way!

I have been growing my collection of books for at least five years now, and I still have books on my TBR that I owned back then, which have been on my TBR for that long (awful, I know).

Here are the books that have been on my TBR the longest:
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I think I am the only person who haven’t read this book yet. However, I have recently been gifted the whole trilogy from my boyfriend’s Grandad so they’re ready on my shelves for me to pick up when I am in the mood for them.

I have only watched parts of the first film, too. I haven’t ever watched the others and haven’t been spoiled at all for these books (surprisingly – considering the hype) so I am so excited to finally read these. I hope I get to them soon!
My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

This has been on my TBR for years, and I put this on it when I was a teenager and loved reading contemporary and romance books. I rarely read romance books now, but I still want to give this one a go.
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

I can’t believe I haven’t read this yet! I remember taking my first ever book picture of this book and I put it on Tumblr – and it completely blew up and got so many likes and I was so happy about it (haha). I know there have been issues with the author in the past but I still want to put that to one side and try to read this book.
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness

I attempted to read this book a couple of months ago but I just couldn’t get into it. However, I was in the middle of a reading slump which I think effected my reading therefore I am going to try to read this one more time when I’m in the mood for it.
Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira

I bought this book years and years ago! I have no reasons for not trying to read this yet. It is still rather high on my TBR so maybe in the near future I’ll give this one a go.
The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

I still haven’t read a Julie Kagawa book which is mad to me! I own a couple of her books like this one and Talon (?) so I hope to read this soon.
Night Film by Marisha Pessl

Night Film is genuinely in my top 3 books to read ASAP. I have no reason for not starting it yet but I have to soon, and I’m so excited for it!
Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery

Just like Little Women, this is still on my TBR. I own a couple of copies of the book because I just know that I’ll absolutely adore the story.
The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski

I remember the hype this book got when it was first published. I bought the whole trilogy years ago and they look so pretty on my bookshelves and I’m so excited to read them.
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

This one is an odd one for me because its what people usually read in class for English lessons. However, I had to read Of Mice and Men so I never actually got aroune to reading this book and it has been on my TBR since I was doing my GCSEs.

There you have it! Those are (just some) the books that have been on my TBR the longest.

What are some of the books that have been on your TBR the longest? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading,

Demi

  1. I also still have to read Ari and Dante! The Knife of Never Letting go was a book I read quite some years ago and I remember really liking it! Julie Kagawa is one of my autobuy authors haha I hope you’ll enjoy her books! Also, may I copy your idea and make a post if I credit you? Some books have been on my tbr so shamefully long 😂 maybe writing about it will help me to read them soon!
