Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing well.
If you follow me on twitter (if you don’t, follow me! @frstpagewonders, I follow all book twitters back.) you will know that I am in the worst book slump that I have ever been in, literally. I haven’t picked up a book in sooooo long. It is making me feel so sad, but I hope to pick up a book that gets me out of it very soon.
Today I have decided to do a tag – The Book Addiction Tag! I found this on AbigailsBooks and it looks so fun – check out their blog.
What is the longest amount of time you can comfortably go without picking up a book?
Honestly? About a day. Which is why this book slump is actually making me really sad. I enjoy reading every night before bed.
How many books do you carry on your person (or Kindle) at any one time?
I carry my Kindle around with me, as well as three physical books. It might sound a lot but I like to have a lot of choice.
Do you keep every book you buy/receive or are you happy to pass them on to make space for more?
I keep them all. My bedroom is seriously unbelievable, there are books everywhere. I’d like to pass them on for others to enjoy but then I always like to keep them just in case I want to reread them.
How long would you spend in a bookshop on a standard visit?
About 45 minutes, I like to look at the YA section, the Fantasy section and the Science Fiction section and browse them fully.
How much time per day do you actually spend reading?
Approximately an hour-ish. On a day that I am off of work and not got any lectures at university, I could possibly be reading for a couple of hours.
Where does the task ‘picking up a book’ appear on your daily to-do list?
Definitely at night. However I like to read on my breaks at work, too.
How many books do you reckon you own in total (including E-books)?
Honestly… over 300. I have 200 on my physical TBR, it is drowning me!
Approximately how often do you bring up books in a conversation?
Not too much to be honest. However, if I am with someone who enjoys reading to the extent that I do, I will be talking about them all the time.
What is the biggest book (page count) you have finished reading?
I’m not too sure, I think the biggest book I read is The Name of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.
Is there a book you had to get your hands on against all odds i.e. searching bookshops, online digging, etc.?
I really wanted to own The Kiss Of Deception by Mary E. Pearson but I couldn’t find it in any book store in the UK. In the end I had to ask my local Waterstones to request it in which they did!
A book you struggled to finish but refused to DNF?
The book I am currently reading – A Discovery of Witches. I’m really enjoying it but I am in such a bad slump I just want to finish it and try to read a new book.
What are 3 of your main book goals for 2018?
I wanted to read 60 books but I don’t think I am going to complete that goal. I want to read books 4-7 of the Harry Potter series which I want to do closer to Christmas time.
Have you ever had the privilege of converting someone into a reader (maybe via inspiration or incessant nagging)?
Not that I remember. The only thing I remember doing is making one of my best friends read The Fault in Our Stars by John Green as I love it so much.
Describe what books mean to you in five words:
Happiness, escape, fun, fantastical, love.
Thanks for reading,
