Monthly Wrap Up | April 2018📖

Hello, bookworms! Today I am here to bring you my April wrap up. I haven’t read much  this month, but I have also been working a lot recently which has been taking up reading time and, also, me and my fiancé have been spending some well-deserved time together.

Overall, I have read 5 books this month.. how unlike me. However, they were great books so that number I am okay with.

Let’s get started on the books I read in the month of April!

1. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

As you may know.. this month I decided to give the Shatter Me series another chance due to the release of Restore Me. I was really disappointed when I first read Shatter Me a couple of years ago but I thought I’d give it another go because of the hype. This time… I loved it! I found it fast paced, unique and very dark. I also read this book in one sitting, over a couple of hours. I picked up the second book Unravel Me as soon as I finished reading the last page. Such an enjoyable read.

2. Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi

I found this book 10 times better than the first. It was even more action packed and fun! I hated Warner during Shatter Me, but whilst reading Unravel Me I found myself falling in love with him and wanting to marry him. Look at my pinned tweet on twitter (@frstpagewonders without the “I” in FIRST) to see my thoughts on Warner. I truly adored this book, and Juliette was more bearable in this one, too. It was a strong 5 star read for me.

3. Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi

This book. THIS BOOK. I loved it! Even better than Unravel Me. I adore Warner so much, I want to marry him and have his babies. Also, Juliette is such a badass in this novel! Talk about good character development. The only negative thing I can say about this book is… Adam is so horrible. I hate him. Ignoring that, however, I felt so many different emotions whilst I read this book and it was like a fun rollercoaster. A strong 5 star read.

4. To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo

When I heard that this book is a loose retelling of The Little Mermaid, I just knew I had to pick it up. I am so glad I did! I rated it 3.5 stars overall, I really enjoyed it and read it really fast. To Kill A Kingdom was the first book I bought and read on my Kindle, I really liked it. However, I found parts of the plot and the romance quite predictable which is why I have rated it 3.5 stars and not 4. However, I do recommend this book greatly – it was so much fun!

5. Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty

I read The Husband’s Secret in 2017 and really enjoyed it. After hearing this book getting hyped up on booktube, I thought I’d give it a go. I found this book to be really fun! It was unique, I haven’t read a book like this before. I liked the characters and the character development throughout this novel. I also enjoyed the mystery aspect and *THE* scene at the end. Highly recommend!

There you have it – those are the five books I read in the month of April. I hope to read more in May and discover more 5 star books!
