Hello bookworms! How are you all?
I’m here to talk to you about what I read in the month of March. I read a total of 6 books in March despite being admitted to hospital for a suspected flare up of Crohn’s disease. However, being in hospital did make more time for reading!
So let’s begin!
1. Vicious by V. E. Schwab
I rated this book 5 strong stars.
I found this book phenomenal. It had been on my TBR for a couple of months at this point, so I knew it was time to pick it up and read it. I loved everything about this novel: the plot, the characters, the setting, everything. I am so excited for Vengeful to be released – I will be snatching that one off the shelves very quickly!
2. Gallery Of The Dead by Chris Carter
(Picture not mine)
This is the 9th book in the Robert Hunter series and it was brilliant! It is my second favourite of the whole series (closely behind the 6th book of the series: An Evil Mind). It was so gruesome, so dark and so well written. It had me turning the pages until late at night – early morning at some points! I can’t recommend this series highly enough. If you enjoy dark, dark crime books, try these! I rated this book 4 stars. 3. The Hazel Wood by Melissa AlbertThis is Melissa Albert’s debut novel – and my goodness isn’t it fantastic! I can’t believe it is her debut novel. I will definitely be picking up every book Melissa releases. I rated this book 4.5 stars. The only reason it wasn’t 5 stars is because I despised the main character. I don’t know why, she just annoyed me. However, the main aspect of this book I liked is that there were fairytales interwoven throughout the novel. It gave it such a magical feel to the book and I really, really loved it!
4. The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
I truly did go out on a whim to begin reading this book – I didn’t think I’d like it at all. How wrong I was! I rated this book 5 stars and it’s become one of my favourite books of all time! I would say this book was a mix of fantasy and dystopian. I never read dystopian novels which is why I honestly believed I would hate this book. I can’t believe how much I loved it, the characters were fantastic, the world building was amazing and the plot had me turning pages at the speed of light! I can’t wait to dive into The Mime Order! I’m hoping to get to it in the month of April. I wrote a review on this book! The Bone Season | Review
5. Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody
Oh my goodness this book. I received an arc from the publishers in return for an honest review. I read Daughter of The Burning City by Amanda Foody in 2017 and it was one of my favourite books of the year so I was desperate to get my hands on this. I’m so glad I did! I am OBSESSED. I rated this book 5 stars and I love it so, so much. I wrote a review on this book, check it out! Ace of Shades | Review
6. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
(Picture not my own)
This book. This book. I don’t even know what to say. It’s broke my cold heart into tiny little pieces. I cried so much reading this, it was such an important book with so many really important messages in it. The family dynamics were amazing, I loved every single character so much and how they worked fantastically with each other and it was so incredible. I can’t. I obviously rated this five stars and would’ve rated it higher if it was possible.
There you have it. Those were the books I read (and really enjoyed!) in March. Every book was either 4 or 5 stars, I enjoyed them all! However, THUG has now put me into a massive slump. I hope I’m able to work through it though because I have some fab books to read in April! April TBR coming soon.
Thank you all for reading!
