My top 5 fantasy books 🌼

Two posts in two days? I am back in business!

Today I thought I’d bring you a post all about my top five favourite fantasy books. Of course, this list changes on the daily, and will hopefully change in the future as I am hoping to read a lot more fantasy books during my time.

Now, before I start, I am going to try to keep Harry Potter off of this list, as people should know it’s one of my favourites of all time. I am trying to be a bit different with my picks here, so HP is going to stay off of this list.

So, here are my top five fantasy books (to date)!

1. Our Dark Duet – V. E. Schwab

This book. This bloody book. This book broke my heart into millions of tiny little pieces. Victoria’s writing is magical, and it had me hooked on the first page and I read this book in one sitting. V. E. Schwab can honestly do no wrong, I just read ADSOM and I adored it, too! This gives me high hopes for all of Victoria’s books.

2. A Daughter of Smoke and Bone – Laini Taylor

Ahhhhh. I cannot believe I haven’t read the rest of the trilogy yet. I have no excuses, I’m just a hopeless reader. The thing I loved most about this book were the characters, they are beautifully brought to life. The world building in this book is also incredible, the magic system is so special and unique. I honestly loved this book, and I can say after just reading this one that Laini Taylor is a well loved author of mine.

3. A Court of Wings and Ruin – Sarah J. Maas

Sarah J. Maas. The fantasy Queen! I loved the ACOTAR trilogy, it has turned into my favourite of all time. My favourite of the three was ACOMAF, but ACOWAR had so much friendship in it that it holds such a special place in my heart. It was such a good end to a fantastic trilogy.

4. Lady Midnight – Cassandra Clare

I can say that I love Lady Midnight even more than I loved Clockwork Princess, and that is saying something. I know a lot of people dislike Emma but I think she is so badass, I really like her! Also, can I just say that Lord of Shadows absolutely killed me? That is all.

5. Sentinel – Jennifer L. Armentrout

I can never write a list without putting my favourite author of all time on it. The Covenant series could not have ended in a better way. I have such a connection to these characters and this world, JLA can do no wrong.

And that is my list! Please comment your favourite fantasy novels so I can check them out!
